He explained that the intervention underway in Sal is not just a construction from scratch, but a complete transformation of an extremely precarious dwelling. The previous structure, made of cardboard and pieces of wood, is being replaced by a decent house, consisting of three bedrooms and two bathrooms, offering basic conditions of comfort, security and privacy.

The investment in the work is estimated at between 40,000 and 45,000 euros, a figure that reflects not only the construction costs, but also the foundation's commitment to ensuring quality and durability in the homes it delivers.

He stressed that this project symbolizes more than just construction: it represents a profound change in the lives of the beneficiaries, restoring hope and dignity to families who lived in extremely vulnerable conditions.

At the same time, the Nilza Varela Foundation continues to develop other housing projects in the country. A new house is currently being built in the town of Achada Losna, on the island of Brava. This initiative reinforces the organization's ongoing commitment to the neediest communities, especially in areas where access to decent housing is more difficult.

The foundation has been gaining recognition for its solidarity work, focused on improving the living conditions of vulnerable families. With projects on different islands, the organization demonstrates a comprehensive vision and a constant commitment to the fight against housing poverty in Cape Verde.

The expectation is that, with the continuation of these initiatives, more families will be able to benefit from decent housing, contributing to a fairer and more balanced future in the archipelago.
